The 4,200-square-foot custom home has 4 bedrooms, 5 baths, a 3-car garage, a gourmet kitchen with Drury cabinets, a walk-in pantry, a fireplace, detailed millwork throughout, 10-foot ceilings, a home theater, an office and finished walk-out basement.

The purchase: In October 2007, the Jeskes paid $1.05 million for the home, or roughly $1.28 million in today's dollars, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

The sale: According to Zillow, the Jeskes sold the home for $975,000 on April 23, or approximately $309,246 less than the original purchase price, in today's dollars.

The Jeskes originally listed the home for a little over $1.08 million in March 2018 and lowered the price in May 2018 to $1.04 million. In January, they dropped the price to $975,000.

The property taxes: Based on data compiled from Blockshopper.com and Zillow, the Jeskes paid $198,395 in property taxes between 2007 and 2017, or about 20.35 percent of the sale price.
