The purchase: In August 2006, Bonner paid $349,000 for the home, or roughly $435,098 in today's dollars, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

The sale: According to Zillow, Bonner sold the home for $259,000 on April 26, or approximately $86,098 less than the original purchase price, in today's dollars.

The property taxes: Based on data compiled from Blockshopper.com and Zillow, Bonner paid $57,682 in property taxes between 2013 and 2017, or about 22.27 percent of the sale price.
