The purchase: In June 2000, the Haladys paid $559,500 for the home, or roughly $824,976 in today's dollars, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

The sale: According to Zillow, the Haladys sold the home for $465,000 on March 28, or about $359,976 less than the original purchase price, in today's dollars.

The Haladys originally listed the home for sale in February for $474,900.

The property taxes: Based on data compiled from Blockshopper.com and Zillow, Haladys paid $224,128 in property taxes between 2001 and 2017, or 48.2 percent of the sale price.
