The purchase: In November 1993, the Kukocs paid $798,000 for the home, or roughly $1.39 million in today's dollars, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

Potential sale: According to Zillow, the Kukocs listed the home for sale in March for $1.15 million. If the home sells for the asking price, the Kukocs will lose over $241,000 on the sale of the home.

The property taxes: Based on data compiled from Blockshopper.com and Zillow, the Kukocs paid $345,652 in property taxes between 1993 and 2017, or about 30 percent of their current asking price.
