The 2,700-square-foot home has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, a 2-story foyer, refinished hardwoods, a brick fireplace, newer stainless appliances, office with French doors, high ceilings, skylights, new kitchen backsplash, double walk-in closets in the master suite, new windows and new carpet.

The purchase: In January 2000, the Wilsons paid $300,000 for the home, or roughly $447,355 in today's dollars, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

The sale: According to Zillow, the Wilsons sold the home for $415,000 on Jan. 18, or approximately $32,355 less than the original purchase price, in today's dollars.

The Wilsons originally listed the home in September 2019 for $460,000.  They lowered the price twice in October 2018 to $450,000 and $440,000 respectively. The home was last listed in November 2018 for $425,000.

The property taxes: Based on data compiled from Blockshopper.com and Zillow, the Wilsons paid $97,177 in property taxes between 2008 and 2017, or 23.42 percent of the sale price.
