The purchase: In July 2006, the Funkhousers paid a little over $1.32 million for the home, or roughly $1.63 million in today's dollars, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

The sale: According to Zillow, the Funkhousers sold the home for $1 million on Mar. 21, or approximately $638,911 less than the original purchase price, in today's dollars.

The property taxes: Based on data compiled from Blockshopper.com and Zillow, the Funkhousers paid $348,875 in property taxes between 2007 and 2017, or 34.89 percent of the sale price.
