The 1,740-square-foot home has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, an eat-in kitchen with stainless appliances, a split floor plan and a cozy fireplace in the family room.

The purchase: In May 2015, Duryea and Davis paid $245,900 for the home, or roughly $260,280 in today's dollars, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The sale: According to Zillow, Duryea and Davis sold the home for $225,000 on Feb. 8, or approximately $35,280 less than the original purchase price, in today's dollars.

Duryea and Davis originally listed the home in June 2018 at $249,900.  They dropped the price in July, September and early November 2018 to $245,000, $237,900 and $234,900, respectively.  The home was last listed for $229,900.

The property taxes: Based on data compiled from Blockshopper.com and Zillow, Duryea and Davis paid $10,822 in property taxes between 2016 and 2017, or an estimated 5 percent of the sale price.
