The 3,684-square-foot home has 5 bedrooms, 5 baths, a 2-story foyer, a gourmet kitchen, a breakfast room, a finished basement with a kitchenette, and wainscoting and a recessed ceiling in the dining room. The home backs onto a golf course.

The purchase: In June 1994, the Wilsons paid $689,900 for the home, or a little over $1.17 million in today's dollars, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The sale: According to Zillow, the Wilsons sold the home for $625,000 on Feb. 22, or approximately $548,352 less than the original purchase price, in today's dollars.

The Wilsons originally listed the home for $689,900 in June 2018 and dropped the price in September 2018 to $649,900. The home was last listed in February at $624,900.

The property taxes: Based on data compiled from Blockshopper.com and Zillow, the Wilsons paid $264,180 in property taxes between 2000 and 2017, or roughly 42 percent of the sale price.
