The purchase: In July 2007, the Johnsons paid $322,000 for the home, or roughly $388,369 in today's dollars.

The sale: According to Zillow, the Johnsons sold the home for $341,000 on Jan. 7, or an estimated $47,369 less than the original purchase price, in today's dollars.

The Johnsons originally listed the home for $349,900 in November 2018.

The property taxes: The Johnsons paid $59,197 in property taxes from 2007 to 2017, or approximately 17 percent of the sale price.
