Seth McMillan, (State Senate, 48th District)

Seth McMillan isn’t afraid of hard work. In fact, he’s more comfortable with his hands in the dirt than in a suit and tie. He graduated from Taylorville High School and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Seth made it his mission to give back to his community, and decided to return home to Christian County.

He started his own landscaping business, McMillan Landscape Company, which has grown in to one of the largest independent landscaping businesses in central Illinois. He employs more than a dozen people and knows small businesses are the key to the economy.

Seth served on the Taylorville School Board and is Christian County Republican Party Chairman. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Taylorville and active in the Taylorville Optimists Club, Taylorville FFA Alumni and the Christian County NRA affiliate. Seth and his wife, Mellisa live in rural Taylorville with their two children.
